Current Needs

We will keep this list up to date as needs are met and new opportunities arise.

Benevolence Fund – Sara and I have begun setting aside funds each month to meet the many unanticipated needs we encounter in the community we serve.  Here are some of the needs we have recently met. We are sharing them here should you feel led to help us with these gifts. In each case we are sure to convey to the receiver that these funds come from God and we are simply the medium through which he seeks to bless people. These funds are above and beyond our personal tithes.

$280    A woman who needed to send money to Burma to pay for her father’s blood transfusions.

$250    Support for a new Christian from Myanmar who came to Thailand to work. His employer refused to pay him for two weeks of pay. This is common for many of the refugees from Myanmar. These employers know these refugees do not have the resources to hold the employers accountable.

Color Code/Marriage Workshop – Many people don’t realize that the main reason missionaries leave the mission field is actually because of conflict with other missionaries. Helping organizations/teams become healthier is what James did for 10 years in the business world. We recently became certified in the Color Code Interpersonal Workshop. We use this workshop to help teams and married couples better understand each other so they can work through interpersonal challenges on the mission field. We do not charge for this workshop. Each workshop costs about $750 for 14 people.

Five Dysfunctions of a Team Workshop – Same as above but instead of Color Code, these workshops are based on a book by Patrick Lencioni, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. This was another powerful tool James utilized throughout his business career. Each workshop costs about $675 for 10 people.
